Multi-tenant Nonprofit Centers
Multi-tenant Nonprofit Centers (MTNCs) are buildings that house multiple organizations and provide professional, efficient, mission-enhancing workspace. Around the country hundreds of multi-tenant nonprofit centers (MTNCs) have formed in response to the ongoing difficulties that nonprofit organizations have in finding quality, affordable work space. Office space is often the second largest budget item after salaries. Lack of affordable space has forced many nonprofits to relocate or cease operations. Nonprofits get hit both in times of economic boom resulting in rising commercial rents and in times of government and funding cutbacks.
Serving Marin's Nonprofit Community
The Marin Community Foundation purchased three buildings to house direct service advocacy and legal services and community organizing, youth, and arts agencies. These buildings help build a stronger, more effective nonprofit sector in Marin County by helping local nonprofits develop and maintain crucial infrastructure resources. By providing quality affordable office space, MCFPH helps Marin County nonprofits provide their quality affordable social services.
